23] – Waterkeepers Chesapeake [info@WaterkeepersChesapeake.org] are rallying on Mon., Feb. 26 at 7 PM ET for the Clean Water Justice Act. Learn more at https://waterkeeperschesapeake.org/clean-water-justice-act/

Maryland has an opportunity to ensure that communities harmed by water pollution can enforce state law. Last year, the U.S. Supreme Court removed a majority of wetlands and streams from federal Clean Water Act protection. Good news is these waterways are protected by Maryland. However, unlike the Clean Water Act, Maryland law does not provide the right for public enforcement. This access to the courts is crucial, because a law is only meaningful when it is enforced. Hear from Del. Sara Love, Waterkeepers and community members about why it is critical that communities have access to justice, and learn how you can take action and provide testimony to support the Clean Water Justice Act. The hearing for SB653 is on Tues. Feb. 27 at 1 PM in EEE, and for HB1101 on Fri., March 1 at 1 PM in E & T. Register at https://bit.ly/CWJARallyFeb26
