39] -- Food & Water Watch [act@messages.fwaction.org] indicates that the Baltimore Regional Water Governance Task Force will be deciding which new entity it recommends to take over operation of the Baltimore water system on Wed., Oct. 4 at 6 PM ET. There is concern the task force may vote to consider privatized models, which involve putting a corporation in charge of a critical public utility. Privatized systems generally result in higher rates and lack of accountability to ratepayers.
