Join South Baltimore Community Land Trust and stand in solidarity with residents of Baltimore's Curtis Bay neighborhood. Did you know Baltimore is home to the second-largest coal export operation on the East Coast? Residents of Curtis Bay have been fighting for almost a year for answers about last December’s violent explosion at the CSX coal terminal: what happened? What will be done to make sure it doesn’t happen again? The explosion was just the latest in a series of problems at the terminal that have been creating unhealthy and unsafe conditions for the surrounding community for years. Sign up to join the rally:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rally-for-coal-free-curtis-bay-tickets-471498533807?emci=7ba4ccd8-ff68-ed11-ade6-14cb65342cd2&emdi=25a9ce0d-0269-ed11-ade6-14cb65342cd2&ceid=177631.

44] – The Committee for the Republic [events@committeefortherepublic.org] is hosting Bruce Fein who will address The Counterrevolution against the Constitution on Wed., Nov. 30 at 7 PM ET. You can attend in person at the Capitol Hill Club, 300 First St. SE, 4th Floor, WDC. Or you can participate online at https://zoom.us/j/7812458066. RSVP at Events@CommitteefortheRepublic.org.

The United States Constitution endows Congress -- not the executive branch -- with overriding responsibility for both foreign and domestic policy. But Congress has unilaterally surrendered its constitutional primacy to the President on an installment plan for more than a century. Without constitutional amendments, the President is currently de facto crowned with virtually limitless power eclipsing the authorities of British King George III which provoked the American Revolution. This counterrevolution against the Constitution was born in pursuit of an American empire (initially begun under the banner of “Manifest Destiny”) in lieu of the American Republic ordained by the Constitution’s makers. Committee Vice Chair, constitutional scholar and attorney Bruce Fein will elaborate on the ignored counterrevolution against the Constitution and the self-diminishment of Congress to an inkblot and lay out an agenda to restore separation of powers.

45] – A Democracy Movement Briefing is happening virtually on Wed., Nov. 30 from 8 to 9 PM EST. Join in at ttps://www.mobilize.us/dfadcoalition/event/544408/?followup_modal_context=organization_newsletter_custom_recommendations. There was a nationwide movement to pass the Freedom to Vote John. R. Lewis Act, and there was important accountability work related to January 6th. Discuss what's next with leaders and organizers from across the country to lay out how we'll defend democracy in the new Congress while working to enact the sweeping reforms needed to create a democracy that works for all of us.

46] – There are any number of activities that you might want to plan as part of another Defuse Nuclear War nationwide action.  DefuseNuclearWar.org will provide digital tools and links to facilitate the process, to make it easy for people to send photos and accompanying messages – for genuine diplomacy and measures to prevent nuclear war – directed at President Biden and members of Congress. How about directing messages to Vladimir Putin, who has threatened to use nuclear weapons?

Plans for the “Diplomacy Is the Path to Peace” organizing will be presented as part of a livestream on Wed., Nov. 30 from 8 to 10 PM ET. RSVP at https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_zVqhs9cqTla7PtJRMBYtkw.

To be continued.
