The focus will be on the effect U.S killer drones have on tribal societies. Marvin Weinbaum, scholar-in-residence, Middle East Institute, will moderate the discussion with Ambassador Akbar Ahmed, Ibn Khaldun, chair of Islamic Studies, American University, Peter Bergen, National Security Studies Program, New America Foundation, and Hamid Khan, senior program officer, U.S. Institute of Peace. Afterwards there will be a meeting of the Pledge of Resistance somewhere within walking distance to discuss the GDAMS initiatives and how we can continue to push for domestic spending over Pentagon bloat/war funding.
