36] – BUYING THE WAR will be shown on Sun., May 4 at 12:30 PM at the Foundry United Methodist Church , 1500 16th St .., NW. This episode of Bill Moyer's Journal examines the role of the media in the lead-up to the war. It analyzes the stream of unchecked information from administration sources and Iraqi defectors to the mainstream media, amplified by pundits, and how stories challenging the official view were often pushed aside while administration claims were given prominence.

46] – The Maryland Citizens' Health Initiative is holding a series of town hall meetings across the state to get input from the public on what should be changed in the health care system. Writer/director Woody Allen plays Cliff, a failed filmmaker, and Martin Landau is Judah, a successful ophthalmologist. Both characters must deal with a moral crisis. Other performers are Mia Farrow, Anjelica Huston, Jerry Orbach, Alan Alda and Joanna Gleason. In this homage to Dostoevsky, Allen exposes his characters to moral quandaries and asks if they must pay a price for "crimes and misdemeanors." The film takes place during the Reagan-Bush years when administration officials were deeply involved in high crimes and some misdemeanors.

The other would organize two events per month, thoroughly promote these events through the media and other outlets, assist city-wide coalition building, and assist board members with grant writing.
