37] – Two years ago, the Palestinian Youth Movement launched Mask off Maersk: a campaign to expose and end logistic giant Maersk’s facilitation of the genocide of the Palestinian people. Since then, the work has grown into the People’s Embargo for Palestine, a movement taking action in pursuit of a global arms embargo against Israel. A newly released investigative report exposes Maersk’s deep, ongoing role in supplying Israel’s weapons industry. Since October 2023, Maersk has shipped millions of kilograms of ammunition components — including bullet cores, bomb bodies, and mortar parts — directly to Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer. These are the materials that become the bullets, mortars, and bombs used against Palestinians. This report is direct and undeniable evidence that Maersk is indeed transporting military components to Israel — a fact they have continued to deny, including in a recent interview RSVP for the WEBINAR:  https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_lmH7jpt4Qz2xqXdQIk8QIg#/registration

Join in on Wed., June 17 at noon ET for an International Movement Briefing on Mask off Maersk. We will review the evidence, expose Maersk’s false claims that it does not ship weapons or ammunition, and take action together.

38] –Creating Justice in a Multiracial Democracy will take place on June 17 at 1 PM ET. The Trump administration is attacking diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the public sector. Inspired by the book Creating Justice in a Multiracial Democracy, join the Economic Policy Institute for a webinar that will provide an actionable path forward to defend against these attacks and ultimately build a better society for everyone. With special opening statements from Roosevelt Institute’s President and CEO Elizabeth Wilkins and Alan Curtis, CEO of the Milton S. Eisenhower Foundation, Economic Policy Institute’s Director of the Program on Race, Ethnicity, and the Economy Valerie Wilson and Economist Kyle Moore will explore a better path forward to create, build, and preserve a multiracial democracy.

39] –The Maryland Break the Bonds [info+maryland-break-the-bonds-steering-committee-info@sg.actionnetwork.org] on Wed., June 17 from 3 to 6 PM at McKeldin Plaza, 101 E Pratt St., Baltimore 21230 will celebrate $63 Million in Divestment and demand Divest the Rest. The pension board has reduced its holdings of Israeli bonds by 85%. The campaign has won a major victory, as Maryland's State Retirement and Pension System (MSRPS) divested 85% of the Israeli bonds that it held less than 12 months ago, after over a year of community campaigning. Enjoy refreshments from a Palestinian caterer and hear powerful speakers from advocacy partners. At approximately 3:45 PM, march to the MSRPS office to deliver hundreds of handwritten postcards calling for full divestment from Israeli government bonds and investment in our communities. By approximately 4:30 PM return to McKeldin Plaza to hear from more advocates and faith leaders, enjoy musical and poetic performances, and get a group dance lesson in Palestinian dabke.  42] – Fatal meltdowns aside, nuclear power is dangerous, dirty, and expensive.  From the uranium mine to the toxic waste pit, nuclear power puts our health, environment, and climate at risk at every point in its lifecycle.  Nuclear plants require large quantities of water, construction is slow and expensive, and radioactive waste poses a giant threat because there are no good disposal options. These are not the markers of a renewable energy source.  43] – Each Thursday from 3 to 4 PM ET, Indivisible co-founders Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin host a virtual event to talk about important news of the week and how we can make real change in our own communities. The chaos out of the White House is meant to overwhelm us. This is people-powered politics in real time. Questions can be submitted via the Q&A function during the live event.  This event will continue through Dec. 17.
