25] – Jewish Voice for Peace is doing a Power Half-Hour for Gaza: Channel grief & outrage into action to stop a genocide.  A year into the genocide in Gaza, we are overwhelmed with sorrow and rage. There are no words to describe the devastating pain of the past year in which the Israeli military has killed over 44,000 Palestinians in Gaza, including more than 17,000 children. The International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court have both declared that Israel must stop the genocidal acts being committed on the Palestinian people. And the U.S. government is actively supporting the Israeli military as it wreaks devastation on the over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza. JVP continues to come together as a political community in its daily half-hour to take action. Join in and take collective action to demand an arms embargo to Israel, immediate end to the genocide, a lasting ceasefire and an end to Israeli siege, apartheid, occupation, and oppression of Palestinians and Lebanon. All are welcome. All are needed. Get involved at 3 PM ET on Mon., Aug. 4, Tues., Aug. 5, Wed., Aug. 6 & Thurs., Aug. 7. 30] – Get Big Money out of Our Primaries is happening on Mon., Aug. 4 at 8 PM ET. Progressive Democrats of America are hosting a national call for people who want to learn more about what was done in Arizona and how they can replicate or adapt it in their states. Join Register at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/HK2NEcAYTFWl_O3YDaDEWg?emci=ee52a3de-bd70-f011-8dc9-6045bda9d96b&emdi=fc6c5422-c470-f011-8dc9-6045bda9d96b&ceid=2907617#/registration

At its meeting in June, the Arizona Democratic Party made history by becoming the first state party to ban billionaires and corporations from buying our primary elections. Led by progressive activists in the ADP’s Progressive Council (caucus), a resolution was overwhelmingly passed to set in motion a process that will seriously restrict large outside Super-Pacs and their influence in our Democratic Primaries in Arizona. Democrats across the country have been inspired, and the North Carolina Democratic Party has passed a resolution modeled on the one in Arizona. Leaders of the Stop Big Money AZ campaign, partner organizations like Progressive Democrats of America, and other allies will provide guidance and inspiration for this fight to build a party that puts the poor and working class first, not big money donors.
