The call is for Increasing Federal Investment in Public Education, and it will feature leaders in public education who will assess the impact of limited federal funding and how the imminent November 5th election could shape the future of classrooms across the nation. Though historically public schools were locally financed through property and state taxes, the largest pool of public funds is federal income taxes paid by citizens. Given the critical importance of public education in maintaining and expanding a thriving government and economy, the nation needs to sharply increase Congressional education budgets.

73] – La ColectiVA is doing Organizing 101 Training on Sat., Oct. 26 from 3 to 7 PM ET  at 5539 Columbia Pike, Arlington, VA (Meeting Room).  During this training, you will get an understanding on how to strengthen our collective work. Organizing is more important now than ever, especially in a time when genocides and violence are threatening our communities. Collective action gives us the power to stand against injustice, defend the most vulnerable, and demand accountability from those in power. By organizing, we can build movements rooted in solidarity, amplify the voices of the oppressed, and create the systemic change needed to end cycles of harm. In the face of violence, organizing is how we fight for justice, protect each other, and envision a future where we abolish capitalism.  RSVP at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe4O3wf13-BuFbecJb8A3YhyxlW8LBIuw1Bdo_wXsfdLgHGrA/viewform

“One is called to live nonviolently, even if the change one works for seems impossible. It may or may not be possible to turn the US around through nonviolent revolution.
