41] – Faithful America [mail@faithfulamerica.org] is inviting you on Thurs., Dec. 21 at 2 PM ET to a Zoom webinar "Holy Families, Holy Migrants,” which is about caring for immigrants at Christmastime and all year round.  Christmas brings a powerful reminder that shortly after his birth, Jesus and his parents were refugees, fleeing to Egypt to escape King Herod's political persecution. This discussion comes as debate rages in Congress over potential cruel new anti-asylum measures -- and nearly a year after far-right Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent migrants to Vice President Kamala Harris's house as political pawns on a frigid Christmas Eve (a year that has been filled with similar stunts). Learn from the Rev. Dr. Alexia Salvatierra, a national leader in faith engagement in immigrant justice, as well as perspectives from an issue expert and a frontline organizer on the Texas/Mexico border. There will be time for a brief Q&A. Register at the https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/1517001717933/WN_Yn7kBE1eRwKssZcbNqFLVA#/registration

46] – Join the larger Pax Christi USA community on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 8 PM ET, as it celebrates the quarterly #PAXMass, lifting up the call for a #CeasefireNOW in Gaza. Celebrate this Mass in solidarity with those in the Holy Land who are suffering because of the war in Gaza, heeding Cardinal Pizzaballa’s request that during this time of war, “focus more on the spiritual meaning of Christmas” and forego any “unnecessarily festive activities.” Pax Christi encourages one another to “advocate, pray, and contribute generously … for the relief of the victims of this war and for those in dire need,” as the Cardinal has asked.  RSVP AT https://paxchristiusa.org/2023/12/18/december-21st-paxmass-for-a-ceasefirenow/
