------

] – Greater Baltimore Residents for a Ceasefire [ryanharvey@riseup.net] are holding a press conference on Tues., Dec. 19  at noon ET outside of Senator Chris Van Hollen’s Baltimore office, 137 W. North Ave. in the Station North neighborhood. The group circulated a letter signed by 130 Baltimore groups calling for an end to the destruction of the Gaza Strip. The press conference will feature a number of prominent organizations and local businesses who have signed the letter. It will end with a group delivering the letters to Sen. Van Hollen’s office, and will be followed by a rally. Call Ryan at 410-733-6867.

] – Jeremy Scahill [membership@emails.theintercept.com] wants you to attend on Tues., Dec. 19 at 3 PM ET an urgent conversation on the U.S. role in the annihilation of Gaza. Everything we know about Joe Biden’s 50-year history of supporting and facilitating Israel’s worst crimes leads to one conclusion: He wants Israel’s destruction of Gaza — with more than 7,000 children dead — to unfold as it has. Israel is barring international reporters from entering Gaza — and systematically killing the Palestinian journalists who are the eyes and ears of the world, reporting from this Israeli-enforced killing cage. Jeremy will interview independent journalist Sharif Abdel Kouddous on the U.S. role in Israel’s scorched-earth campaign to annihilate Gaza, the future of Palestinian resistance, and the urgent need for journalism that tells the truth about this crisis.  To submit a question, RSVP at https://join.theintercept.com/signup/gaza_dec2023/?t=3&akid=8495%2E1009448%2ElHjYat

] -- Join the Baltimore Nonviolence Center on Tues., Dec. 19 from 4:30 to 5 PM ET at 33rd and N. Charles Sts. The invasion of Ukraine has the potential to become a war extending throughout Europe.  Putin has destroyed Aleppo and Grozny and has threatened the use of nuclear weapons.  Russian soldiers were sent into the area around the contaminated and still radioactive Chernobyl nuclear plant. Now they are stationed in the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe.   People who believe in peace and justice should come forward and take the risks of peace. The burial sites continue to expose ruthless war crimes by the invaders, Contact Max at mobuszewski2001 at Comcast dot net or 410-323-1607.

] – Bikemore [info@bikemore.net] hopes you will be there  on Wed., Dec. 20 at 5 PM ET for a Happy Hour by the bar in the R House in the Remington neighborhood in Baltimore. Bring your questions for Bikemore board and staff! The happy hours will continue this winter instead of Bike Breakfasts.
