14] – Join the Interfaith Council of Metropolitan Washington at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival! The Council will be hosting an “Ask Me Anything” workshop at the Festival on Mon., July 3 from 1 to 1:45 PM ET! Based on the Human Library concept, this session offers participants a chance to learn more about different faith traditions in the DC region through intimate small group conversations on topics of their choice, including faith practice, food and clothing customs, traditional symbols, major holidays, and more. The AYA Art Collective will host an Art Exchange at the Eaton Hotel’s Eaton House, 1203 K St. NW. The Art Exchange offers an unforgettable evening of Afrocentric Performance Art centered around Black Queer and Trans performers in the DMV area who will showcase their artistic talents and gifts. In addition, the event has a goal of building a community of collaboration and imagining liberated futures through art. 20] – Join a virtual Common Cause phone bank. Work together to demand bold changes to our democracy to create a government that represents all of us, not big corporations or special interests. Register for a shift to make calls and help strengthen the phone bank team to protect our democracy. Make calls from 4 to 6 PM ET on Tues., July 4, Wed., July 5 or Fri. July 7. These shifts will also always include training for first-timers before you make calls, so if this is your first time, no worries! This will continue through August 28, 2024. The Maryland Chapter of Americans United is an all-volunteer led group of dedicated individuals working to protect the country's founding principle of church-state separation.
