34] – UNFOLD ZERO [info@unfoldzero.org] is encouraging you to
join an event on Wed., April 20 at 11 AM ET.
How might a nuclear-weapons-free world be achieved and sustained?
Through a nuclear weapons convention, or a framework agreement which includes
the nuclear-armed countries? Or through the adoption of protocols to the Treaty
on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) that open the door to the
nuclear-armed states joining?
Explore the legal, technical and institutional measures and frameworks to facilitate the global prohibition and elimination of nuclear weapons. The event will focus on the ideas and proposals in Abolition 2000 NWC Reset: Frameworks for a Nuclear-Weapon-Free World, a civil society working paper submitted to the 10th Review Conference of States Parties to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, scheduled to take place August 1-26, 2022. 35] – Michael Beer, Nonviolence International [info@nonviolenceinternational.net] indicates on Wed., April 20 at 11 AM ET you can get a Live Report about Breaking a Siege in Occupied Western Sahara. Sign up at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/live-report-breaking-a-siege-in-occupied-western-sahara-tickets-320401237727 for a historic live conference call with US activists, Ruth McDonough, Adrienne Kinne and Indian activist Merwyn De Mello, who have courageously interrupted the Moroccan siege of the Khaya sisters in Western Sahara. The rapes have stopped. But what now? What can we do, as internationals and particularly Americans whose government is the only one in the world to recognize Morocco’s occupation and annexation? And how does a focus on Western Sahara connect with Ukraine and Palestine? Also, speak directly with Sultana Khaya, the inspiring activist and learn how Saharawi women are leading the nonviolent resistance amidst unspeakable repression.

38] – Cecilia Behgam, Action Center on Race and the Economy [email@acrecampaigns.org] is doing a briefing on Wed., April 20 at 3 PM ET about Vanguard's Empty Promises: How Vanguard Funds Harm and Fuels Extractive Industry. The report revealed that Vanguard oversees nearly $6 billion in investments in high risk sectors in “socially responsible” U.S. based equity ESG funds that perpetuate environmental and racial injustices. Dow Chemical and Axon Enterprises are among the hundreds of polluters and carceral corporations found in Vanguard’s so-called ESG funds that have fueled harm in BIPOC communities. The report also reveals how Vanguard’s Donor-Advised funds have channeled millions of dollars to climate change denial groups and right wing groups fueling bigotry, such as the Mercatus Center, an influential Koch and Big Oil funded think tank, and the anti-Muslim David Horowitz Freedom Center. RSVP Now at bit.ly/3rlHQMx.
