wants you to attend on Thurs., Sept. 2 from10 to 11 AM ET a virtual Zoom

on medical debt lawsuits that will remain effective until at least January 2022

45] – Join activists around the country at a virtual phonebank to urge voters in key states to demand their senators’ support of the For the People Act! The August deadline for 2022 is fast approaching! Our democracy is in crisis: with redistricting around the corner and hundreds of voter suppression laws being introduced in states across the country, we do not have time to wait. Every day we’re getting closer to a very real deadline to take action to pass the For the People Act (S.1): If the Senate does not overcome the filibuster and pass S. 1 by late August, states will not have enough time to implement the legislation’s regulations before the 2022 midterm elections! Join activists around the country at a virtual phonebank to urge voters in key states to demand their senators’ support of S. 1! RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/pfaw/event/376178/?utm_source=PFAW to call on Thurs., Sept. 2 from 3 to 6 PM and 6 to 8 PM ET or Sat., Sept. 4 from 4 to 6 PM and 6 to 8 PM ET.
46] – Shelly, Super Volunteer for Women's March [info@womensmarch.com] is inviting you to get involved on Thurs., Sept. 2 from 5 to 6 PM ET. Volunteers reached out to voters in 2020. Now there is work to be done to address the rising wave of white nationalism in our country. Help with the United Vision Project to reach out to folks who may be sympathetic to extreme nationalist movements and have deep conversations to better understand their points of view. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/womensmarch/event/398997/?akid=3537.508952.F3aqd1&rd=1&t=2&utm_campaign=em20210901.

51] – Rising Tide North America [info@email.actionnetwork.org] is urging you to get on the call on Thurs., Sept. 2 at 8 PM ET. Folks are getting creative on the frontlines of the protest against Line 3, and throwing down to make sure that the pipeline is stopped. This resistance is incredibly inspiring. Last week, thousands gathered at the Minnesota State Capitol calling on Minnesota governor Tim Walz to Stop Line 3. Soon after, hundreds blockaded Walz’s mansion demanding he stop the pipeline. Cops came in riot gear, assaulting peaceful water protectors, hitting one on the head with a baton, and 69 were arrested. The bill was introduced with a record 112 original cosponsors. And, because of collective organizing, the total is now 118 cosponsors. The plan was to focus efforts on 19 Democrats who it is believed were most likely to sign on to the bill with enough pressure, along with 21 Democrats who are some of the highest recipients of corporate health care donations in Congress. Two members of Congress on the priority list have since signed on -- Rep. Kweisi Mfume (MD-07) and Rep. Zoe Lofgren (CA-19). Activists in the districts of Rep. Betty McCollum (MN-04) and Rep. Mike Quigley (IL-05) have also succeeded in moving their members of Congress to cosponsor during this same time.
