30] –On Tues., Oct. 14 from 7 to 8:30 PM ET, Massachusetts Peace Action [info@masspeaceaction.org] is hosting Developing a New U.S. Policy in the Middle East, an online event, with Josh Paul, a former State Department official who resigned his position due to his opposition to U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.  Specifically he objected to the U.S. providing lethal arms to Israel in violation of U.S. laws such as the Leahy Law.  He founded a new organization called “A New Policy”, whose mission is to advocate for U.S. policy that will “Advance American national security & foreign policy interests, Reflect American political deals, including freedom, equality, and human rights, and Comply with American Laws governing the provision of security assistance and the transfer of arms equally to all countries in the Middle East, including Israel.”  Mr. Paul will talk about his work with A New Policy and share his analysis of the current debates in Congress and Washington, D.C. as to U.S. policy on Israel and the Middle East. The Wednesday Movement launched on March 12, 2025 when disgruntled seniors took to the streets in Baltimore to make their feelings known. The Movement, a weekly Pro-Democracy, Anti-Trump, Anti-Putin vigil, gathers on a heavily trafficked Baltimore street corner. We invite others who feel the same way to join the Movement. You do not need to be old to join this movement.

36] – The Progressive Maryland Team [info@progressivemaryland.org] on Wed., Oct. 15 from 5:30 to 6:15 PM wants to say enough is enough — Hopkins must be held accountable. Take action for a fair and just city. Hopkins must respect Baltimore.  Momentum is building across Baltimore. Residents, workers, and community organizations are coming together to hold Johns Hopkins accountable for decades of unchecked power and harm to our city. With an endowment of $13 billion and executives earning millions, Hopkins continues to exploit workers, avoid fair taxation, and push development that harms our neighborhoods and green spaces. It’s time for change.

Baltimore’s message is clear: Hopkins must pay its fair share in city taxes, end its unaccountable private police force, protect the trees and green spaces that keep our city healthy, and stop union-busting that undermines workers’ rights.  The location is private.  The actual address will be sent to all RSVPs the day before the action.
