The sit-in is active 24/7, with daily programming that includes speeches, art, workshops, and demonstrations. Whether you’re showing up for a day or staying for the long haul, there’s a place for you here. On May 13 to 15 the theme is Faith, Healing & Sacred Resistance. 25] – Help pack City Hall for an important hearing on Tues., May 13 at 10 AM at Baltimore City Hall, 100 Holliday St., Floor 4, Baltimore 21202.  The hearing is for the Fair Share PILOT Task Force Bill, which would involve community and union folks in the creation of a fair and transparent renegotiation of the 2026 PILOT Agreement (which impacts the amounts these institutions contribute to the city). RSVP at https://jufj.org/event/pilot-0513/?emci=1a271698-202c-f011-8b3d-6045bded8cca&emdi=a41c3b86-252c-f011-8b3d-6045bded8cca&ceid=4262660

In 2016, Baltimore City's 14 wealthiest tax-exempt hospitals and universities signed a PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) agreement behind closed doors allowing them to pay only $6 million annually towards city services, even though they use $47 million in city services every year. Who pays for their share? We do. Join Jews United for Justice and others to demand these institutions pay their fair share, and demand a fair and transparent PILOT negotiation process. Come pack the room for the Baltimore City hearing for Council Bill 25-0036 to show our community power!

26] – Tune in to Palestinian Women & the Nakba on Tues., May 13 at noon ET.  May 15 marks the 77th anniversary of the 1948 Nakba, when more than 750,000 Palestinians were violently driven from their homes. In this special online event, explore the role of Palestinian women during the Nakba and in modern Palestinian society. Hear from Palestinian women who have kept their families’ legacies alive through storytelling, stitching, cooking, and other resistance to occupation and settler colonialism. 27] – MPower Action [info@mpowerchange.org] on Tues., May 13 at 3 PM ET is holding an MPower Hour: Demand an end to the starvation of Gaza. Israel is starving Gaza, and the U.S. is complicit. Over 70,000 children in Gaza are being hospitalized with severe malnutrition. Thousands more face imminent death. For over two months, Israel has enacted a complete blockade of humanitarian aid. That means no food, water, medicine, or fuel. This is intentional mass starvation — and a war crime.  Our Members of Congress need to hear from us. Take action together to flood the phone lines of our elected officials and demand an end to the blockade. RSVP at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/0GCfqaWCSUu2cBPiRQ1N1w#/registration

28] – Food & Water Watch [act@fwwatch.org] on Tues., May 13 at 3:30 PM is do an Against all Odds virtual conference celebrating 20 years of grassroots power. RSVP at https://www.foodandwaterwatch.org/20th-anniversary/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=engagingnetworks&utm_campaign=onor_em_04292025_NAT-benefit-invite-6-Teachout-Kicker&utm_content=2025-04-29+FWW+c3+NAT+General+Benefit-Invite-6-Teachout-KICKER+Event+em+nL+C+EP for our Virtual Conference on May 13th!

Zephyr Teachout, the keynote speaker, is a Professor of Law at Fordham University. She has spent 25 years as a lawyer and activist studying the intersection of corporate and political power, and seen how oil monopolies and concentrated auto manufacturers have protected the internal combustion engine when we could have had electric vehicles, and how Big Oil then takes advantage of crises to price gouge us all. But she never seen anything like the crushing of dissent and the retaliation for free expression that we are seeing today. At a time when our elected officials are willingly handing over the reins to a handful of corporate oligarchs, it’s never been more important for us to understand how to reclaim our political power.

29] – On Tuesdays, from 4 to 6 PM ET, gather with Indivisible at 9706 Gorman Road, Howard County 20723 for a Rush Hour protest at the I95 Gorman Road Overpass. This event will continue through July 15. Silence Gives Consent Continued. Join a protest on May 13, and RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/772050/

30] – The Union of Concerned Scientists [action@ucs.org] on Wed., May 13 from 4 to 5 PM ET will do a webinar -- Estimating big polluters' sea level rise responsibility. Learn about recent research that quantified how emissions traced to the largest polluters contributed to present-day surface air temperature rise and sea level rise. The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) invites you to a virtual discussion to learn more about how the past emissions by the world's biggest polluters are driving current global warming and future sea level rise. Nearly half of the increase in present-day average surface temperature and one-third of present-day sea level rise can be traced to emissions from the 122 largest fossil fuel producers and cement manufacturers, according to new peer-reviewed UCS research. These big polluters, known as the carbon majors, have locked in as much as 22 inches of global sea level rise by 2300. Email events@ucs.org.
