16] – Claire Miller via ActionNetwork.org [claire@mdehr.org] hopes you will join in on Sun., Dec. 4 at 3:30 PM ET for a briefing on Herman Daly’s Contributions to a Sustainable Future. The Maryland Campaign for Environmental Human Rights recognizes the passing of Herman E. Daly, a world-renowned University of Maryland professor who pioneered the ideas of sustainable development over the past fifty years. Our advocacy efforts are inspired by his teachings. MDEHR agrees with the principles Daly espoused. We believe that designating the state as trustee of Maryland’s natural resources (as an environmental human rights amendment would do) would require the state to reimagine and reprioritize the standards by which economic decisions are made, prevent egregious environmental impacts, and make sustainable development a reality. Some of Daly's major works were Ecological Economics and Sustainable Development (2007); and From Uneconomic Growth to a Steady-State Economy (2014).  RSVP at https://actionnetwork.org/forms/rsvp-for-ambassador-training-3?source=direct_link&&link_id=2&can_id=4b9d4061aec5469758759317ac0f5285&email_referrer=email_1741006&email_subject=the-weekly-brief-herman-dalys-contributions-to-a-sustainable-future.
