61] – The Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival [] hopes you will join the national text banking program to unleash the power of our vote! This is a 50-day final push with the national voter outreach program to ensure that the poor and low-income voters are a deciding factor in the upcoming midterm elections. Volunteer to make phone calls, send texts, knock on doors and canvass neighborhoods to make sure that poor & low-income people both have the tools they need to register to vote & have a voting plan. 62] – There is a Make Medicines Affordable Day of Action on Thurs., Oct. 6 from noon to 1 PM ET at the Bartholdi Fountain at U.S. Botanic Garden, 100 First St. SW, WDC 20534.  Drug companies and their CEOs are making billions of dollars while everyday people are struggling to pay for their medicines. The Inflation Reduction Act provides much needed relief and ways to curb Rx prices and drug company price gouging. More relief is possible without having to wait for Congress! Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra can use Executive Action to cut prices and expand access to life-saving medications. Urge Secretary Becerra to meet with the Make Meds Affordable campaign advocates and to hear from people who are being hurt by high Rx prices.   The bipartisan January 6th Select Committee has shown that Trump and his MAGA allies planned, promoted, and paid for a criminal conspiracy to overturn an election they knew they’d lost. Trump and his MAGA allies continue to work to sabotage future elections by changing state laws, threatening state officials and packing election administration offices so that they can have the final say over election results – even when they lose. 66] – The Endangered Species Coalition [], in this time of accelerating species loss, is making time to express the love we have for the natural world.  This is an important way to reconnect to the wildlife, plants, and ecosystems.
