code 1136243#. Work only on brainstorming ideas for participation in the

Ecology Institute purchased the farm and need lots of help to get it up and
running! Please come out with gloves, sturdy shoes, lots of water, sun
protection and snacks and you will be put to work (and kids) weeding, watering,

the key food fields up and growing! Go to https://www.facebook.com/events/426880618165991/.
27] -- On
Tues., July 2 from 10 to 11:30 AM, check AMLO Economics: Between the Wall and
the Flood in Mexico, hosted by Center for Global Development, 2055 L St.
NW, 5th Floor, WDC 20036. Tickets are at www.cgdev.org. Over
the last 25 years, Mexico has benefited from robust trade and financial
integration with North America and strong domestic macroeconomic and financial
stability, although much remains to be done on the socioeconomic front. Against
this backdrop, the economy is currently facing strong domestic and external
headwinds. At home, the economy has slowed since last year, with real GDP
contracting 0.2% in 1Q2019, reflecting low productivity in Mexico and softer
growth in the United States. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) has
announced protectionist policies, which are not supportive of private
investment. From the external side, the lingering uncertainties about Trump’s
tariffs on Mexico's imports could have a major negative impact. The Latin
American Committee on Macroeconomic and Financial Issues (CLAAF) will discuss
central questions on the best policy responses to market uncertainties. A light
breakfast and coffee will be available at 9:30 AM. Look at https://www.facebook.com/events/338084550202566/.
28]

DC Statehood Phone Bank. Call state legislatures across the US to raise
awareness of DC residents' lack of full and equal voting representation in
Congress. Phones, scripts, materials, and light refreshments will

32] – On Tues., July 2 from 6 to 8 PM, get
over to D.C. Statehood & Community Building: A Conversation with Eleanor
Holmes Norton at the Metropolitan A.M.E. Church, 1518 M St. NW, WDC 20005. This
forum is a community event, in which Reverend William Lamar IV will moderate a
topical discussion with Congresswoman Norton about the evolution of community
in the District of Columbia. The conversation will include a robust discussion
on D.C. Statehood and other federal matters that Congresswoman is advancing on
Capitol Hill on behalf of her constituents. Look at https://www.facebook.com/events/336523707022296/.
33] – On Tues., July 2 at 7 PM, there is an
Alloutdc community assembly at The Potter's House, 1658 Columbia Rd. NW, WDC
20009. On July 6th, 2019, the far right and white supremacists alike will
be converging at Freedom Plaza for their so-called “Demand Free Speech” rally.
Organized by hate group the Proud Boys, the rally is supposed to feature
speakers like rape-apologist Mike Cernovich, neo-Nazi Milo Yiannopoulis,
notorious Islamophobe Laura Loomer, western Chauvinist Gavin McGuiness, Trump’s
former campaign advisor Roger Stone, and alt-right troll Jack Posobiec. They
will weaponize free speech to normalize bigotry and hateful rhetoric against
communities of color, LGBTQAI2S+, migrant workers, DACA recipients,
undocumented communities, Muslim and Jewish communities, and other already
marginalized communities.
An anti-fascist/anti-racist response will be demonstrating
to confront the alt-right. See https://www.facebook.com/events/1841643212604509/?ti=icl.
Help mobilize a counter protest against the alt-right’s desire to spread hate,
and open the conversation about confronting white supremacy and fascism to the
community, in particular to the marginalized communities most impacted by their
hate. This panel is a chance for our community to discuss why D.C. should
mobilize against the Demand Free Speech rally. The speaker list will be made of
organizers and activists from the DMV, of the marginalized communities that are
actively being targeted and erased by the MAGA white nationalist hate speech
campaign. See https://www.facebook.com/events/2715267901834914/.
