Can you sign this letter?/Can you help deliver it on November 19 at 4:30 PM?

Rep. John Sarbanes
600 Baltimore Ave.
Suite 303
Towson, MD 21204

November 19, 2014

Dear Representative Sarbanes:

This month, we celebrate Thanksgiving, expressing appreciation for our loved ones and all the blessings we enjoy. Members of the Pledge of Resistance-Baltimore are voters and supporters of Progressive Democrats of America, and we invite you to join us celebrating these principles by cosponsoring the following legislation, (if you haven't already), and by opposing bad foreign policy and bad international agreements.

Cosponsor H.Con.Res. 114 to require the Congress to debate U.S. military intervention against ISIS. Also vote against new or renewed Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF). The Iraq War helped create ISIS. More warfare will only increase turmoil and bloodshed in the Middle East. Please contact Rep. Raúl Grijalva’s office: (202) 225-2435 to cosponsor.

Oppose the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and any other multinational commercial agreements that hurt American working families. Also, oppose “fast track” or any other accelerated procedure for such deals that would serve the special interests, not the public interest.

Cosponsor H.J.Res. 113 to remove the time limit for ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment to ensure rights will not be denied or abridged on account of sex upon ratification by 3 additional states. Please contact Rep. Jackie Speier’s office: (202) 225-3531 to cosponsor.

Cosponsor H.R. 1000 to establish a Full Employment National Trust Fund for Employment Opportunity Grants to states, local governments, and Indian tribes for job-creation and workforce investment. Please contact Rep. John Conyers’ office: (202) 225-5126 to cosponsor.

Cosponsor H.R. 1579 to levy a tiny excise tax on securities transactions, (i.e. financial speculation). Please contact Rep. Keith Ellison’s office: 202-225-4755 to cosponsor.

Cosponsor H.R. 5478 to amend the program which authorizes the Secretary of Defense to transfer military equipment to law enforcement agencies. Please contact Rep. Hank Johnson’s office: (202) 225-1605 to cosponsor.

Cosponsor H.R. 292 The New Columbia Admission Act to set forth procedures for admission into the United States of the state of New Columbia. Please contact Del. Eleanor Norton’s office: (202) 225-8050 to cosponsor.

Finally, we are seeking an end to the use of killer drone strikes, which we believe to be illegal and unconstitutional. We ask you to speak out against this assassination program, which ignores any veneer of due process. Consider as well a request for the full, unclassified release of information surrounding the administration’s drone policy.

We look forward to your response. And when you are ready, we would like to meet with you, preferably in Baltimore. But if necessary, we will travel to your D.C. office. We thank you for your consideration regarding these critically important issues, and look forward to ongoing discussion and engagement with you in the coming months.
