Subversive Peacemaking

Dear Friends,
Tomorrow [Dec. 7] at 9
Trident on trial, a near impossibility in a court system that is so
woven so deeply into our violent nation, one that continues to
dispatch Trident nuclear submarines to patrol the oceans, with enough
missiles (with their multiple warheads) to end life on Earth as we
know it.
And yet, as Father John Dear reminds us, "With the God of peace, even
the impossible is possible!" We come together this week to support
the Disarm Now Plowshares 5; both physically and in spirit, we are
with them throughout this difficult time.
The week begins with tonight's Festival Of Hope. Tomorrow morning at
8
for trial. Please check the Disarm Now Plowshares "Events" page for
the most up-to-date information on trial and events times. I've
attached the full week's events schedule.
I invite you to not only come to vigil at the Courthouse and attend
the evening events, but I ask you to bring family, friends, coworkers
- especially people who are not yet (knowledgeable about or) engaged
in the struggle for a nuclear weapons-free (and just and peaceful)
world. It is so important to show the world that the Disarm Now
Plowshares are not alone; that we are all in solidarity with them and
this just cause and will bear witness to what the government does in
this trial.
If you will join us at the evening potlucks please bring an item to
share with the community.
Bring nonviolent spirit and signs to the courthouse vigils.
If you cannot join us (physically) be sure to keep up by checking the
Disarm Now Plowshares Blog for daily updates. There are new posts and
videos (see Video page) up now.
Please also share Disarm Now Plowshares with others!
In Solidarity as we struggle together to do the impossible,
Leonard,
P.S.- My emails during the trial week will be coming from
subversivepeacemaking@gmail.com since I will be using web-based email
while working from other computers.
