27] – For two years, a mother and activist with the Congregation Activist Network has lived in sanctuary in Bethesda. She has continued to check in with ICE annually and, thus far, uneventfully. On Tues., June 24 at 9 AM she has an in-person check-in at the Baltimore ICE field office. There is a very real risk that this time she might be detained and placed into a deportation process. She has requested that those who support her quest for asylum and family unification join her for a prayer vigil at a local church near the ICE field office in Baltimore, location TBD, at 7:45 AM. Should she return to us, there will be a brief celebration? But should she be detained, march to the ICE field office for a press conference and rally on Hopkins Plaza, in support of Rosa and opposing all cruel family separations. If you would like to attend this action, please reach out to Baltimore Director, Rachel Kutler (Rachel.Kutler@jufj.org) to be added to a day-of signal thread. Event is organized by the Congregation Action Network.

28] – Jewish Voice for Peace is doing a Power Half-Hour for Gaza: Channel grief & outrage into action to stop a genocide.  A year into the genocide in Gaza, we are overwhelmed with sorrow and rage. There are no words to describe the devastating pain of the past year in which the Israeli military has killed over 44,000 Palestinians in Gaza, including more than 17,000 children. The International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court have both declared that Israel must stop the genocidal acts being committed on the Palestinian people. And the U.S. government is actively supporting the Israeli military as it wreaks devastation on the over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza. JVP continues to come together as a political community in its daily half-hour to take action. Join in and take collective action to demand an arms embargo to Israel, immediate end to the genocide, a lasting ceasefire and an end to Israeli siege, apartheid, occupation, and oppression of Palestinians and Lebanon. All are welcome. All are needed. Get involved at 3 PM ET on Tues., June 24, Wed., June 25, Thurs., June 26 and Mon., June 39.
