42] – What’s the Plan? A
virtual Weekly Discussion with Indivisible’s co-founders takes place on
Thursdays, including Sept. 4, from 3 to 4 PM ET. This will continue through
Dec. 18. The onslaught of news, the chaos coming out of the White House – it’s
all meant to overwhelm us. It’s a deliberate strategy to sow confusion and make
us believe we are powerless to fight back. The antidote: Coming together in
community to process what’s happening, to sift through what’s important and
what’s just noise, and coalesce around strategies for fighting back. Join
Indivisible co-founders Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin each week to discuss
what’s happening and more importantly – what’s the plan? RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/773746/?utm_source=email&utm_medium=_20250728
43] –On Thursdays, including Sept. 4, from 4 to 5:30 PM, join an Overpass Extravaganza at Ridgley Ave. Overpass, 599 Ridgely Ave., Annapolis 21401, hosted by Chesapeake Indivisible. Help hoist a huge message on the Ridgley Avenue Route 50 overpass to reach about 40K commuters headed eastbound on Route 50 in Annapolis, and wave signs for drivers traversing Ridgley Avenue. This event will continue through Thurs., October 30. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/824306/
44] –Ronda Cooperstein [rondacooperstein@hotmail.com] wants you to attend a vigil and information sharing event on Thurs., Aug. 28 from 4:30 to 6 PM at the corner of Park Heights and Slade Ave. Please do not bring flags. This is organized by World beyond War, Baltimore Chapter. Visit www.baltimore@proton.me
45] – Jared Schablein [info@shoreprogress.org] on Thurs., Sept. 4 at 6:30 PM wants you to know that Shore Progress is holding its monthly meeting. Talk about an issue with significant implications for the community. David Wilson, the Maryland Development Manager for US Wind, and Jen Brock, the Chief of Staff for Oceanic Network, will cut through the noise and discuss the future of offshore wind here on the Shore. Donald Trump and Andy Harris’s latest desperate attempt to stop offshore wind off the coast. The Trump administration threatened to revoke the federal permits for US Wind’s project. Let’s be clear: this does not kill the project, and it’s unlikely to succeed in court. The Bureau of Ocean Energy has never revoked a permit once it has been granted. Following the Supreme Court’s Loper Bright v. Raimondo decision, agencies can’t reverse themselves solely for political reasons. Courts strike that down all the time. Trump already tried this in New York and Massachusetts, and both projects are still moving forward. This is about more than clean energy. It’s about good jobs, affordable electricity, and a better future for the Shore. You can attend in-person: Inspire One, 803 N Salisbury Blvd, Suite 2400, Salisbury. Join the Social Housing Working Group for its biweekly organizing meeting. Learn about its latest activities, what they're planning for the future, and how to get involved. The Social Housing Working Group seeks to educate Metro DC DSA chapter members and the general public about social housing and to facilitate collective action in support of the passage and implementation of the Green New Deal for Housing Amendment Act. The legislation proposes to create mixed-income, district-owned housing with market rate units that subsidize a larger number of affordable units. It's a pioneering approach that deepens affordability, invests surplus funds into the creation of more social housing, and locks-in financial sustainability. The bill also includes climate and labor standards and elected tenant boards with oversight over building management. This event is open to both DSA Members and supporters
