56] – Beyond Extreme Energy [info@beyondextremeenergy.org] on Thurs., Sept. 18 starting at 8 AM ET and on Fri., Sept. 19 starting at 10:30 AM ET is telling the government Hands off our Planet: No Fracking Petro State. RSVP at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSemWT-pfyKlgGB775-XnrXN9h55LvxOIfGoNqhWkTFsX_F2Mg/viewform?link_id=0&can_id=4b9d4061aec5469758759317ac0f5285&source=email-hands-off-our-planet-take-action-918-19&email_referrer=email_2874767&email_subject=hands-off-our-planet-take-action-918-19
Beyond Extreme Energy is calling out the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the EPA, and the fossil fuel corporations. On Thursday, the action is at the monthly Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Meet at the Lower Senate Park, 200 New Jersey Ave. NW, WDC 20001. Demand that the commissioners follow the decisions of the DC Circuit Court and halt all new fossil fuel projects until they have implemented robust greenhouse gas emissions standards and policies protecting against ongoing environmental racism. On Thursday at 2 PM, join Mourning the EPA on The Mall at Madison and 12th St. This is the beginning of a sustained campaign to demand its restoration and the removal of Administrator Lee Zeldin. Converge on the national office of the EPA - which recently announced the launch of the biggest deregulatory action in US history, including the repeal of a key climate policy that has guided federal environmental regulations for 16 years.
On Friday at 10:30 AM, join the Petro State Tour starting at the Lower Senate Park, 200 New Jersey Ave. NW, WDC 20001. Then board the sun bus (double decker bus) and visit Global Venture and end at the Dept. of Transportation.
57] – Trade Justice [hillary@tradejusticeedfund.org] on Thurs., Sept. 18 at 3 PM ET is holding a special Trade Justice Power Hour briefing to learn how we can work together to demand that the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) trade deal be rewritten to prioritize job creation, wage increases and an end to corporate giveaways! President Trump said that the USMCA — his rebranded version of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) — was the greatest trade deal ever and promised it would bring jobs pouring back to the U.S. and otherwise benefit our communities. After more than five years under Trump's deal, good-paying jobs continue being offshored so big corporations can continue taking advantage of ongoing labor rights abuses, lax pollution controls and abysmally-low wages in Mexico.
Trump also added other sweetheart provisions to the agreement that help Big Tech firms ship digital economy jobs around the globe to wherever workers are the most exploited and environmental regulations are the weakest. These "digital trade" provisions threaten our families' online privacy and data security. RSVP for “Time to Rewrite Trump’s Rigged Trade Deal” at https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/9717574514739/WN_rh5wVsoeTZqJSjtBAC_twg?link_id=2&can_id=4b9d4061aec5469758759317ac0f5285&source=email-now-on-aug-21-trade-migration-and-the-usmca-4&email_referrer=email_2880950&email_subject=time-to-rewrite-trumps-rigged-trade-deal&&#/registration
58] – What’s the Plan? A virtual Weekly Discussion with Indivisible’s co-founders takes place on Thursdays, including Sept. 18, from 3 to 4 PM ET. The onslaught of news, the chaos coming out of the White House – it’s all meant to overwhelm us. It’s a deliberate strategy to sow confusion and make us believe we are powerless to fight back. The antidote: Coming together in community to process what’s happening, to sift through what’s important and what’s just noise, and coalesce around strategies for fighting back. Join Indivisible co-founders Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin each week to discuss what’s happening and – more importantly – what is the plan. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/773746/?utm_source=email&utm_medium=_20250728
