23] –Nonviolence International [info@nonviolenceinternational.net] on Wed., Oct. 8 at 10 AM ET hosts Genocide Resistance Grows.  As Palestinians enter the third year of intensified violence, systemic oppression, and siege, this gathering seeks to shed light on how Palestinians and their allies persist in resisting with courage, resilience, and creativity. This is an opportunity to listen deeply, learn from our courageous speakers and recommit ourselves to the global effort to end the genocide in Gaza.  The Wednesday Movement launched on March 12, 2025 when disgruntled seniors took to the streets in Baltimore to make their feelings known. The Movement, a weekly Pro-Democracy, Anti-Trump, Anti-Putin vigil, gathers on a heavily trafficked Baltimore street corner. We invite others who feel the same way to join the Movement. You do not need to be old to join this movement.

The chapter covers the DMV area, including the district, Northern Virginia, and Montgomery County and Prince George's County in Maryland. Every other New Member Orientation is in person and remote. Many other groups will be participating--Sierra Club Maryland, Food and Water Watch, Progressive Maryland, Nature Forward, Third Act, and Vote 16.  The idea is to formally launch a public effort to put pressure on the Maryland General Assembly and demand that they overturn the Governor’s veto.

29] – Ken Jones announced that on Wed., Oct. 8 at 8 PM ET there will be a War Industry Resisters Network webinar Disrupting Genocide: The Journey of Louisville's "Raytheon 5." It will feature a group from Louisville, KY that did a direct action against the local RTX (Raytheon)/BAE plant there. Register at https://secure.everyaction.com/QckKmXRrnEGuv2EDJtjoxQ2.

At 5:30 AM on February 2, 2024, fifteen protesters blocked all entrances to Raytheon Corporation and BAE Systems in south Louisville, successfully shutting down daily operations for the day. LMPD arrested the protestors and they spent half a day in jail. Ten of the protestors plead guilty and accepted a deal while five remained and decided to take the case to trial. This webinar welcomes three members of the Raytheon 5 to discuss their journey from arrest to spectacle of their gag-ordered trial, where all five were found guilty of trespassing on key infrastructure assets. Hear from Scott Rosario Mottola, a writer, organizer, and service industry worker, Wilde-de Vries, a lifelong queer anti-racist and social justice organizer and Ash Eisenmenger, an artist who's been involved in the movement for collective liberation in various capacities.
