12] –CODEPINK [info@codepink.org] on Mon., Oct. 6 at 8 PM is inviting you to join in for the start of the War is Not Green campaign to educate all on the environmental costs of war and how to bring together movements and resources for a fight against the biggest threat to a livable world: war and militarism. Now more than ever, we need a united front against militarism and imperialism. The environmental movement should be an obvious and powerful partner in that work: the U.S. maintains almost 800 military bases around the world — and the U.S. military is the #1 institutional polluter in the world. Each base occupies land, contaminating the soil and destroying the surrounding environment. Yet so often, the cost and motivation of war is the elephant in the room in environmental spaces.  As we work to end genocide and ecocide and take action within the belly of the beast, it is our duty to be educated on how our government is driving us closer and closer to environmental collapse — and what we must do to ring the alarm bells and fight for the people and planet.  ‌ ‌RSVP at https://www.codepink.org/wingcampaignseries?utm_campaign=wing_campaign_action_sunday_in&utm_medium=email&utm_source=codepink
