49] – Jewish Voice for Peace is doing a Power Half-Hour for Gaza: Channel grief & outrage into action to stop a genocide.  A year into the genocide in Gaza, we are overwhelmed with sorrow and rage. There are no words to describe the devastating pain of the past year in which the Israeli military has killed over 44,000 Palestinians in Gaza, including more than 17,000 children. The International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court have both declared that Israel must stop the genocidal acts being committed on the Palestinian people. And the U.S. government is actively supporting the Israeli military as it wreaks devastation on the over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza. JVP continues to come together as a political community in its daily half-hour to take action. Join in and take collective action to demand an arms embargo to Israel, immediate end to the genocide, a lasting ceasefire and an end to Israeli siege, apartheid, occupation, and oppression of Palestinians and Lebanon. All are welcome. All are needed. Get involved at 3 PM ET on Thurs., July 10, Mon., July 14, Tues., July 15 & Wed., July 16. 54] – The Workers Circle [socialjusticeinfo@circle.org] on Thurs., July 10 at 7 PM for the latest Effective Advocate training – a critical conversation about how organizing and elections are the most powerful tools of resistance.  The threat of fascism isn’t abstract. From purging civil servants and rewriting history, to openly plotting mass deportations and the end of democratic norms – the foundations for the death of our democracy are being laid.  RSVP at https://actionnetwork.org/events/effective-advocate-making-change-from-your-hometown-and-beyond-july-10?link_id=0&can_id=4b9d4061aec5469758759317ac0f5285&source=email-july-10th-join-the-fight&email_referrer=email_2804621&email_subject=july-10th-join-the-fight&&

55] – Ken Jones [info+war-industry-resisters-network-info@email.actionnetwork.org] on Thurs., July 10 at 8 PM ET wants you to attend a webinar with Mr. Fish, a political cartoonist and analyst, aka Dwayne Booth. You can register here: https://secure.everyaction.com/kz53-V50k0mfaPJDX0qs7Q2

What is the future of political cartooning, protest art, and visual satire? How can pictures rendered in celebration of the precious vulnerability of the human experience make crystal clear the toxic barbarity of the military and retail industrial complexes, both built on the hideous notion that the commodification of people everywhere and the willful disenfranchisement of their natural inclination towards peace, love, and understanding is better for business – better business being predatory capitalism and capitulation to hierarchy? What can be done to assert the importance and indispensability of the artist’s unique role in a free society as both a witness and predictor and, in some circumstances, instigator of all the comedy and tragedy that motivates our politics, shapes our cultural identities, and informs, for better or worse, the internal voice that shames, praises, and confounds our tenuous relationship with truth, beauty, and treachery every moment of everyday?

56] – On Thurs., July 10 at 8 PM ET, there is a Progressive Democrats of America co-sponsored roundtable discussion about the imperative of nuclear containment in the wake of the Iran/Israel/USA war, which once again reminded the world that we all live on the precipice of nuclear annihilation. PDA members are encouraged to attend the first hour of this national Zoom call and then consider joining the all-important campaign call at 9 PM ET. Check out the panel discussion: From Bunker Busters to Mushroom Clouds, there are the Attacks upon Iran and the Enduring Nuclear Peril.
